Very pretty, Heather! Love all of the inspiration!
If you’re using acorns as vase filler, I recommend drying them in the oven first, and spraying with a clear adhesive. I wrote about this on my blog last month: http://smallhomebigstart.blogspot.com/2012/09/how-to-dry-acorns-for-fall-crafts.html
Thanks for the tip Amanda!
So pretty. I found you through Twitter, but would love to have you join my weekly link party – Seasonal Sundays.

Thanks Hilani – aren’t apothecary jars such a fun way to decorate?
Perfect timing Heather! I just picked up two apothecary jars at the thrift store this afternoon!
Lucky you! I’m jealous! I have never been so lucky as to see apothecary jars, but I have scored stoneware and milkglass! Have fun decorating with them Colleen

Fill’em up Holly! YOu are so lucky to have lots of jars!
I like the nuts, seeds, and ribbon idea. I DO NOT like the sculls! Ick! Kennedy would love that!
I’m with you Courtenay – I like the prettier stuff too
so versatile!! Lovely idea – have a great weekend!!
Wow, great inspiration! That scull is the creepiest!
Yes – my boys would love that one!
These are so fun! I love apothecary jars. I keep my coffee kcups in a big one in the kitchen!
Thanks for linking up to the All Star Block Party girl!
I didn’t see this before I decided to just do apothecary jars on my mantel and change out the contents each month. (a full-time job 10 months/year means keeping it simple!) These are great!
Gorgeous Heather! Thanks for the great Fall inspiration!
Loving all these ideas, thank you xxoo
Happily featuring your pumpkin filled apothecary jar on my blog tomorrow, Sept 30th. I hope you have a minute to hop on over
I have tried displaying mini pumpkins and gourds in apothecary jars with the lid but they dont get air and soon they begin to mold and rot. Do you clear coat them first or what do you do to preserve them?
Hi Sarah – the pumpkins I use are faux pumpkins….I think there is a way to preserve pumpkins with a bleach/soap/water cleaning….maybe google that and see if you find any tips to help you. I would think adding a coat of matte varnish would work too!
You always have the best ideas, love your creativity.
I love apothecary jars! I have several in my home: in my kitchen and my bathroom. It’s so much fun to decorate them for the seasons and holidays!

1. Glass vessels filled with fall pumpkins and gourds!
These apothecary jars sit on the island in my kitchen. I filled them with a small box of harvest vase filler; it’s a mixture of mini pumpkins, mini squash, leaves and fall colored berries.
I added several brown-glittered mini pumpkins that I had on hand to each apothecary jar too! So pretty!
